At Halton Carers’ Centre we understand that families come in all shapes and sizes. Most families will encounter difficulties and challenges and many may deal with their problems with the help of friends and family. When those challenges can seem overwhelming we are here to listen and offer practical and emotional support.
We have experience in working with the most complex issues facing families today; these include financial hardship, substance misuse, mental health, domestic violence, educational needs, social isolation and disabilities.
We work together with other local agencies ensuring the support we provide is the most beneficial. The benefits to multi-agency working are:
- Learning about other services
- Improved support for parents
- Children, young people and families’ needs are addressed more appropriately
- Better quality services
- Reduced need for more specialist services.
These issues can have a huge impact on those individuals’ health, well-being and development, however, it can also have a vast impact and affect the stability of the whole family.
We believe that with the right kind of support, families can overcome and face their difficulties to become much stronger, happier and healthier units.
As well as providing relevant and quality support to young carers and their families, we have provided several family trips and positive activities over the last year. We feel those family trips have been extremely valued and essential to our view of whole family working.
The trips and activities have given families the chance to do things they may never experience, strengthen family relationships, spend time together without daily distractions, create family memories, as well as having the opportunity to meet other families.
How you can get help from this service
